Basement Ideas - Great Guest Room

by Jessica P

Wouldn't you love to create a great guest space for your family and friends who come to visit? Use this basement idea and create the perfect guest room for your friends and family.

We all know how awkward it can feel to visit someone and not have a place to sleep. You end up displacing someone out of their bedroom or you end up on the sofa. Spare your own guests from that awkwardness by providing them with their own guest room.

In order for this basement idea to work, you will need to clean out your basement. Here is what you will need to get this basement project underway. - Paint for the walls - A heavy duty rug or perhaps even carpet - Some bedding for your guest bed - A few chairs or a small couch for a nice guest sitting area - A small dorm-sized refrigerator to leave snacks and refreshments for your guests. - A night table - A receipt book to provide your guests with their bill... just kidding!

Paint the walls in the color you have picked out. Try to coordinate the colors with the bedding, the walls, and the sofa or chairs. As an example, choose what color you like best in your bed cover and match it to your walls.

Install your floors, or hire a professional to do it for you. Now it is furniture time. Organize it nicely, to maximize space, and devote some extra effort to making it look great.

There are some finishing touches you can add to your guest room to make it even more special. A small pot for coffee and some coffee packets are a nice addition. Make sure to add a mug or two to go with it.

Add some beautiful scented candles on the night stand, and place a television somewhere so your guests can watch a little late night t.v. without disturbing the family members.

Your guests will feel more welcome because they wont be sleeping on the couch or kicking someone out of their room. This is a great basement remodeling idea, especially if you have a lot of guests around the holidays. Have fun and enjoy your guests.
