Far too many people only undertake the task of cleaning the toilet during routine spring cleaning. This is a mistake. The bathroom, expectedly, is a site for messy and unsanitary build-up. Don’t neglect it throughout the year; clean it regularly.
If you see or smell the presence of unclean accumulations around the toilet, you probably need to clean it ” and soon! Use something to remove the buildup, making sure to use a strong detergent.
There are whole lines of cleaners that you can use in your bathroom. You may have heard of several foaming cleaners or cleaners with tilted heads that make cleaning the upper bowl easy. These can make cleaning the toilet much simpler.
Just go to the store and pick up a toilet bowl scrubber and cleaning agent. Combine them and the result will be a shiny, odor-free toilet bowl.
You don’t just want to take curative measures when your toilet gets dirty. You want to make sure you take preventative measures to keep it that way!
You can pick up some additional cleaning products that stay in the toilet for weeks or months at a time and add cleanser to the water slowly and automatically. With each flush, the water partially cleans the toilet. This will keep you from having to clean the toilet as often.
Of course, there’s a small catch. These kinds of cleaning products require weekly or monthly changes, so you can’t just ignore them after you put on in initially. You’ll need to install a fresh product every so often.
Preventative cleansers can put off the next toilet washing, but they cannot ever completely replace it. You’ll need to periodically wash the throne to maintain your clean and healthy bathroom.
While the task of cleaning the toilet may, quite literally, stink, it’s absolutely necessary. Cleaning your toilet regularly and not just once a year can make your bathroom a much more pleasant room. Plus, you make your house much healthier overall!

If you’re the lucky owner of your own home then you have a lot to be happy about. Even though prices of property will go up and down over the course of time you will always find that prices will increase in the long run.
Increasing the value of your home doesn’t have to be a passive thing. By adding something like an extra bathroom will benefit the overall value significantly and will help you when and if you’re looking to sell the house sometime in the future.
Something as simple as a basement bathroom will not only be easy to add but you’ll also be able to do it fairly cheaply by following these simple tips and guidelines.
Tip #1: Instead of thinking about what you might like in terms of colors and interior decoration think of what the common homeowner might like. If you try to design the room to fit the taste of the majority you’ll be much more likely to get that extra value increase you’re looking for.
Tip #2: Go hunting for bargains. Do not rush out and buy things at the price that they’ll normally cost. Spend a little time finding the good deals and maybe even go look for wholesale deals or closing sales. You can save thousands on this account.
Tip #3: Do not go for luxury and highly priced products. Don’t choose Italian tiles and the latest design in toilets. People are not likely to pay extra for these kinds of things and you’ll only decrease the potential profit you’re trying to create for yourself.
Tip #4: If you’re a handyman and you know how to do most of the basic work around the home you’re in luck. The biggest expense by far when creating a new bathroom is the payment you’ll have to make to have other people install everything for you. The more you’re able to do yourself the more money you’ll make.
By taking each of these four steps and running with them you can literally add thousands of dollars to the price of your home. And that is not all. Having a new bathroom in the basement will also help you sell the home faster.
